A Village Boy Sold His Land To Help The Orphans & Homeless

...

On the way from Pune to Satara, near Khambhatki Ghat, there is a Gajanant Shelter Center run by Yashodhan Trust, an NGO for orphans, homeless, elderly, and mentally ill people in the village. Ravi Bodke, a young man from Wai taluka, set up an NGO called " Yashodhan Trust " to provide shelter to the people who have been rejected by society.

Ravi Bodke grew up in a family that did farming. From his college days, he always had a passion for social work with a feeling of giving something back to the community. With this same passion and humanity, he began to work in the community to provide for the ones in need, widows, orphans, the homeless, and the mentally convertible in 2005.

At the age when he wanted to earn money by working, he started taking a vow to do social service. The people in the house were very upset with his decision. But Bodke continued to help the community as much as he could. The scope of work of Yashodhan Trust has increased since 2012. While helping many orphans and destitute people, there were endless difficulties that he came across. The main problem he faced was a shelter for orphans and homeless mentally ill people. Bodke decided to start his own shelter for orphans by renting out space.

On the road to bringing up the stranger and mentally challenged people, there was a daily routine to get a doctor for treatment. After a few days of taking care of all kinds of people at the shelter, they search family for orphans, and homeless people and are dropped safely to the family. Also, mentally challenged patients were admitted to psychiatric hospitals for further treatment. After the development of the condition of the mentally ill people, they are returned to the family. At present, there are 45 orphans - homeless and mentally challenged.

To this day "Yashodhan Trust" has helped thousands of orphans that have been homeless, without shelter, and mentally unwell. Today "Yashodhan Trust" has begun the "Gajananta shelter space center". Some of the elderly are left to fend for themselves by their own unborn children, who are sheltered through the Yashodhan Trust. The work of keeping humanity alive is being done by " Yashodhan Trust " for which they need donations to carry on with the great kindness acts. Financial assistance was sought through the "Social for Action" campaign for the annual cost of health check-ups and medical treatment for the homeless and the mentally unwell, and for the construction of a new ashram building by the Yashodhan Trust. Donors responded spontaneously to this call and funds were raised through the crowdfunding platform of Sakal Social Foundation's 'Social for Action'.
